And we’re looking for a rock star to be a communication specialist on our member communications team (with a focus on the individual under 65 and group markets).

The Details:

The communications specialist, under 65 and group, is responsible for:

  • Executing multifaceted, multi-audience communications plans and tactics that support business-critical initiatives 
  • Through member onboarding and engagement communications, helping to increase education and retention (especially for the ACA consumer) 
  • Writing agent communications, supporting education and alignment efforts to acquire and retain members. 
  • Anticipating and solving challenges with internal business partners to achieve cross-functional alignment 
  • Managing multiple projects with multiple deadlines and evolving business imperatives. 
  • Developing and producing of a wide array of communications materials, including newsletters, letters, digital content and collateral 
  • Writing and editing in a way that ensures communications are aligned to Florida Blue’s customer-centered tone and style: streamlined, easy to understand, engaging and on brand—focused on preserving the customer experience. 
  • Collaborating with communications colleagues to align messaging across audiences—including issues management and public relations efforts with high member impact. 
  • Measuring communication effectiveness and use feedback to improve future efforts.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing communications, journalism or related field 4 or more years relevant communications experience in the health care industry 
  • Experience in supporting the development of strategic communication plans 
  • Experience in executing strategy and communications related to ACA individual consumer health insurance 
  • Experience serving as a communications consultant to business teams and senior leaders 
  • Experience with digital communications, email engagement, social media and other electronic/emerging technologies 
  • Awareness of Customer Experience (CX) principles and journeys 
  • Ability and willingness to perform strategic and tactical elements of the role 
  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills, attention to detail and a sophisticated design sensibility 
  • Professional presence, a positive and enthusiastic demeanor and the ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency 
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities and limited resources 
  • Experience managing financial resources

Preferred Criteria:

  • Knowledge of health care delivery models 
  • Knowledge of employer group health insurance communications
