Public Relations & Communication Specialist
Central and Northeast Florida
Gainesville, FL

The Public Relations and Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of internal and external public relations, communications and marketing efforts as well as the building of media relationships. This position works collaboratively with the other department team members to create meaningful messages through words, ideas and images that successfully communicate the services, programs and benefits of Haven Hospice, both internally and externally. The Public Relations and Communications Specialists works to ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand and meet company standards to maintain and promote a positive image on behalf of the organization.


  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field.


  • Minimum of one year of experience in public relations and communications required. 
  • Ability to communicate persuasively in both written and verbal form and plan and organize undertakings with minimal supervision and support is required. 
  • Able to work collaboratively with other department team members as well as internal and external stakeholders and vendors. 
  • Current Florida driver’s license and insurance. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. 
  • Proficient in maintaining social media sites and social media tracking. 
  • Willing and able to learn and introduce new technology into daily public relations practice.
