Position Details

Marketing Communications Specialist I
Columbia Metro
Columbia, SC

Under direct supervision, assists in creating communication programs and marketing materials that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products.

  • Assists in coordinating the creation and placement of advertising in various media including the external and internal facing websites. 
  • Creates and updates graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, or other promotional products. 
  • Researches and develops content for publication of products. 
  • Develops promotional material for use at points of sales, exhibitions, conferences, etc.
  • Prepares status reports on marketing efforts. 
  • May assist in coordinating with outside agencies on the preparation of advertising and promotional materials.


  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires general knowledge of marketing communications design. 
  • Must be able to coordinate with internal and external resources in order to deliver a quality marketing product. 
  • Requires strong computer skills with programs such as Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
