POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fundraising Manger (FM) is responsible for executing the fundraising strategies and activities that ensure Feeding South Florida’s (FSF) annual operating budget is met and surpassed, thereby ensuring the overall financial health of the organization. This position ensures the financial advancement of the organization by providing support for fundraising activities as they relate to corporations, foundations, and individuals. This position will build and maintain strong working relationships with direct reports and community stakeholders, working under the supervision of the Executive Vice President (EVP) to ensure the development and sustainability of a robust fundraising program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With the support of the EVP, raise and support the organization’s operating budget with a team of three direct reports. 
  • Assist with the advancement and expansion of the organization’s presence in the community by developing new donor relationships and overall outreach initiatives and campaigns. 
  • Identify emerging industry trends with a special emphasis on developing high value-exchange alliances through the identification, solicitation, cultivation, and retention of corporate, foundation, and individual donors. 
  • Maintain a personal portfolio (focusing on five and six figure gifts) and supervise team member portfolios and pipeline moves to secure philanthropic commitments in support of FSF’s mission and goals. 
  • Manage and develop Corporate Philanthropy and Individual Philanthropy associates, understanding all aspects of their positions and providing support and coverage as necessary. 
  • Oversee development staff activities, including the establishment of best practices, standard operating procedures, and prospect/cultivation plans and schedules. 
  • With the EVP, implement, manage, and evaluate the following programs: donor recognition and retention, planned giving, payroll giving, annual campaign, major gifts, others as identified. 
  • Prepare and give presentations to a variety of community stakeholders, both on and off-site, throughout FSF’s service area. 
  • Ensure stewardship is at the forefront of the development department’s agenda. Stewardship activities include but are not limited to: ensuring all gifts are processed and recognized in a timely manner; detailed, comprehensive, and accurate records of contacts are kept with all prospects and donors, following established protocols; ensuring all phone calls, emails, letters, etc. are returned within 8 business hours. 
  • Maintain highly confidential information; i.e. budgets, salary information, as well as manage outside confidential information as it relates to donors or prospect gifts or capacity. 
  • Prepare and provide data and reports in a timely manner, including, but not limited to grants, proposals, weekly reports, audits, Feeding America reports, dashboards, and others as requested. 
  • Work seamlessly with other departments to ensure open lines of communication and uniformity. 
  • Ensure organization mission and vision remains at the forefront of daily activities.
  • Communicate regularly with the EVP regarding staff-related items and the cultivation of individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Assist the EVP as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The FM will be thoroughly committed to FSF’s strategy, mission and culture. All candidates should have demonstrated leadership, coaching and relationship management experience, with strong demonstrated success managing a variety of community relationships.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree and CFRE certification preferred. 
  • At least 5 years of recent, consistent, and demonstrated fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders including advisory groups, coalitions, forums, trade associations, foundations, corporations, individuals, and grant-making organizations. 
  • At least 3 years of management experience with a varied demographic of direct reports, as well as phases of organizational development including phases of growth. 
  • Robust knowledge of donor psychology, demographics, and each county in FSF’s service area. 
  • Must have working knowledge and ability to utilize a database for prospecting and fundraising, preferably Raiser’s Edge, or Salesforce, 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Knowledge of community leaders, corporations, and influential decision makers in quad-county service area. 
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. 
  • Impeccable integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed with demonstrated passion for FSF’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals. 
  • Solid judgment and apparent leadership skills. 
  • A team player, who can relate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment 
  • An individual who can handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with the multiple priorities. 
  • Strong analytical skills; basic business intuition, common sense, and strong work ethic 
  • Willingness and ability to attend after hours events. 
  • Experience with capital campaigns is a plus. 
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and an insured, reliable personal vehicle
