Overview:

SAS is seeking an experienced public relations specialist to help highlight its analytics leadership. Are you a hard worker who can develop and place compelling stories – from full-length features in traditional media to eye-stopping items in social media? Can you seamlessly engage with a LinkedIn analytics group, interview a customer about her story, craft an edgy pitch on the latest business and tech trends, develop an infographic or video that’s exceedingly shareable, and respond to a media question on a ridiculously tight deadline?

As a PR specialist on the SAS External Communications team, you’ll work in a high-energy, deadline-driven environment to build relationships with key influencers, brand advocates and internal marketing partners. You’ll help create and carry out global PR campaigns to promote analytics software in a host of industries.

And you’ll earn content, manage editorial opportunities, cultivate customer relationships, measure and track results, and use social channels and internal systems to share stories and guide conversations, all leading to positive exposure for SAS and its technologies.

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, or a related field of study. 
  • A minimum of five years’ experience, as part of an in-house or agency public relations team with direct media contact; or as a technology reporter, writer or editor for a news outlet. 
  • Experience creating and managing public relations campaigns and programs for software and/or high-tech companies/clients. 
  • Proven excellence in written and verbal communication.

Additional:

  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical lingo into a compelling story. 
  • Experience not only writing, editing and creating news, but using graphics, video and social media to seed it, stimulate it and spread it. 
  • Social media savvy, and proven ability to integrate social media into PR activities. 
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to multitask within a deadline-driven environment, and work both independently and as part of a team.
